3-km access road to Bohol’s adventure park now complete

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a tourism road project leading to Edith Grand Garden Resort and Adventure Park in the municipality of Baclayon, Bohol.

District Engineer Francis Antonio L. Flores of DPWH Bohol First District Engineering Office (DEO) reported that the paving of a 3-kilometer, 2-lane Ramon Magsaysay-Tanday Barangay Road which is now providing a faster and safer access to Tagbilaran East Road going to the adventure park.

DPWH constructs access road to seaports in Lucena City, Quezon Province

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now speeding up construction and improvement of access roads leading to seaports in Lucena City, Quezon Province.

Anticipated to boost tourism, improve delivery of goods and services, and reduce transportation costs, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the project’s 79 percent completion rate is good news for residents and tourists that will be benefitting from the construction and rehabilitation of Quezon Eco-Tourism Cotta-Dalahican-Talao-Talao-Mayao-Road.

South Korea donates for Taal

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar receives on Monday, February 3, 2020 the South Korean organizations’ donation of N95 masks, micro type nasal filters, and P1.250-million for victims of Taal Volcano eruption. The donations for affected families were handed over by officials and consultants from Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank), Korea Trade (KOTRA) Center Manila, and DOHWA Engineering Co., Ltd. in a turnover ceremony at the DPWH Head Office.

Safer, better Masiu Bridge in Lanao del Sur, now open

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the completion of new Masiu Bridge in Masiu, Lanao del Sur.

DPWH Region 10 Director Zenaida Tan reported that the 95-linear meter bridge was constructed to replace the old and weak Masiu Bridge along Lake Lanao Circumferential Road.

The bridge will facilitate safer and better travel for residents as the department upgraded the bridge according to latest design standards.

“The new Masiu Bridge can withstand high magnitude earthquakes,” said Director Tan.

DPWH completes flood control structure in Calbayog City, Samar

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the second phase of a flood-control project along Oquendo Creek in Barangay Oquendo, Calbayog City, Samar.

Based on the report of Regional Director Bueno, the 234 linear meters long revetment on both sides of the Oquendo creek costing P20 million and include works of a double-barrel box culvert, plant boxes, street lights, canals, and a riprap.

DPWH paves road to jump-off point of Mt. Apo

More travelers can now easily access the tourist destinations of Bansalan, Davao del Sur with the completion of a road concreting project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

A total of 1.2 kilometer of local road in Barangay Eman, Bansalan has been paved to give tourists and local residents better access to Bansalan's different tourist spots.

The town of Bansalan located in the foothills of the country’s tallest mountain, Mt. Apo, is also home to picturesque Balutakay Waterfalls, and an organic farm called Lao Integrated Farm.
