DPWH Paves Road to Mung Bean Industry in Isabela

A newly-paved road constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now benefitting rice and mung bean planters of Santiago, Isabela by reducing the transport cost of crops.

“With paved road, we are ensuring a more efficient transport of goods and local products in the area, which will uplift the economic condition of residents,” said DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar.

The construction of Rizal-Salvador-Divisoria Road in Santiago, Isabela received funding from 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA) and was implemented from May 2021 to August 2021.

Villar Inspects Progress of Lawton Avenue Widening Project

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is pushing for the swift completion of the road widening project on Fort Bonifacio-Nichols Field Road in Taguig City, most commonly known as Lawton Avenue.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that this widening project will increase Lawton Avenue’s capacity to accommodate additional volume of vehicles and facilitate faster mobilization of goods and services.

Farmers of Barangay Hilamonan in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental has been reaping the benefits of a farm-to-market road (FMR) that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) had recently upgraded.

Villar, the 856-lineal meter FMR project implemented by DPWH Negros Occidental 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) involves concrete paving of five (5) meters wide road with inclusion of grouted riprap as slope protection and reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings.

3 Flood Control Projects More than Half-Way Complete in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is on track to deliver the Lawton Avenue to Global City viaduct section of the Bonifacio Global City (BGC)-Ortigas Center Road Link Project by end of 3rd Quarter this year.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that construction of viaduct and approach 3 along BGC’s 8th Avenue is now at an accelerated pace to meet the September completion target.

This project will soon provide motorists a much different travel experience between Ortigas and BGC, added Secretary Villar.

Flood Control Structure Protects Communities along Salug River in Zamboanga del Sur

A 581-meter flood control structure built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will protect residents living along the Salug River in Barangay Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur during rainy season.

The P49-million project implemented by Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Engineering Office involves the construction of flood control structure on steel sheet pile foundation along the upstream of Salug Daku Bridge.
