Boracay Rehabilitation Task Force inspects Boracay roads

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar checked the condition of major roads in Boracay Island along with the other members of the Boracay Rehabilitation Task Force, including Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno, and Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello.

During the inspection, the task force saw the need for the collaborative effort in the rehabilitation, improvement and widening of the narrow roads in the island causing the perennial problem of traffic congestion.

DPWH, AFP discuss Atrocity Prevention in Western Visayas

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 6 met with the officials of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to tackle the prevention of insurgencies in the region.

DPWH Region 6 was represented by the District Engineers led by Regional Director Wenceslao M. Leano, Jr. and OIC-Assistant Regional Director Jose Al. V. Fruto while the AFP officials were headed by Brigadier General Francisco Delfin, the Assistant Division Commander of Camp Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz.

DPWH Built 47 School Buildings in Southern Leyte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has delivered 47 new school buildings for the students in the Province of Southern Leyte in time for opening of Academic Year 2018-2019. DPWH-Southern Leyte District Engineer Ma. Margarita C. Junia said that the school buildings constructed under the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEF) have a total of 96 classrooms comprehensively designed to withstand destruction from natural disasters.

Members of the DPWH, headed by Secretary Mark Villar, inspect the Manila-Cavite Expressway’s (Cavitex) ongoing construction of a flyover on the southbound lane, and road widening on both directions of the expressway. “Cavitex, being the gateway to the Cavite, Laguna and Batangas provinces, responds to the challenges of progress. More cars pass Cavitex year on year, a sign that Region 4A continues to boom, and is likely to become a highly-progressive and viable area for more investments.
