DPWH Finishes Road Upgrade of 2 Middle Lanes Along España Blvd

Two middle lanes of España Boulevard from P. Campa Street to N. Reyes Street are now open to motorists after thirteen (13) days of round-the-clock road improvement works.

This was after Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) finished early Wednesday (June 18) the Stage 2 of the Concreting with Drainage Improvement of España Boulevard or the construction on 762.6-square meter middle lanes of España Boulevard.

Heavy Loaded Truck Causes Bridge Partial Collapse in Agusan del Sur

Tagabaka bailey bridge along Butuan City - Talacogon - Loreto - Veruela - Sta. Fe National secondary road in Agusan del Sur partially collapsed due to passage of heavy loaded truck.

According to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 13 Director Danilo Verzola, the bailey bridge capacity is only for five (5) tons, however, overloaded cargo trucks weighing 25 to 35 tons are passing along that route.

Trucks loaded with falcata logs are usually passing through that bridge, Verzola added.

P53-M Buntatala Bridge Opens to Traffic

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Iloilo City District Engineering Office (ICDEO), under the leadership of District Engineer Rodney A. Gustilo and Assistant District Engineer Marilou G. Zamora has opened to traffic the remaining two lanes of the Buntatala Bridge in the district of Jaro last May 30, 2014.

The inauguration was graced by Iloilo City Lone Congressional District Representative Jerry P. Treñas, Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog, Iloilo City Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa III, and barangay captains of Jaro district.

DPWH, Region 6 Hosts Regional Directors' Meeting

The 6th Regional Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways, under the leadership of Regional Director Edilberto D. Tayao and Assistant Regional Director Lea N. Delfinado, hosted the national meeting of the Regional Directors last May 27, 2014.

During the meeting, Regional Director Edilberto D. Tayao briefed his fellow directors on how he was able to execute the projects including the orderly acquisition of the right of way and the relocation of the informal settlers on time and without cost overruns.
