DPWH Eyes China Grant to Pursue Another Iconic Bridge Linking Bohol’s Panglao Island

The Government of the Philippines hope to secure possible new grant with the Government of the People’s Republic of China to finance a proposed iconic bridge connecting Panglao Island and mainland Tagbilaran City in Bohol Province.

“We are looking forward at the approval of official development assistance through a grant from China for the proposed Panglao-Tagbilaran City Offshore Bridge Connector (PTCOBC) Project”, said Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil K. Sadain.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) paved a road to provide better access to Sumile Zoological and Botanical Park in Barangay Sumile, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado, Regional Office 13 Director Pol M. delos Santos said that the 556.30 meters road widening project was constructed in the amount of ₱11.8 million.

Barangay Sumile, a far-flung barangay in Butuan City, is home of the Zoological and Botanical Park, which showcases a magnificent botanical garden, and friendly monkeys.

New All-Weather Arfel Bridge Ongoing in Maddela, Quirino

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is building a bridge that will ensure sustainable interconnection among communities from the Northern part of Maddela, Quirino even in times of typhoons.

DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado, citing a report from DPWH Region 2 Office, said that the construction of the new Arfel Bridge crossing Ramos Creek along Echague-Jones-Maddela Road (Villa Norte-Panang Sect) in Barangay Divisoria Sur recently started.

In his report to Secretary Roger G. Mercado, Undersecretary and Build Build Build Chief Implementer Emil K. Sadain said that the construction of approach road for the new Clarin Bridge has reached the final stage with on-going laying of bituminous asphalt concrete finish after undergoing full compaction of base materials.
