DPWH Completes Solar Lighting Project to Enhance Road Safety in La Trinidad, Benguet

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed the installation of solar-powered streetlights along the Pico–Lamtang Road in La Trinidad, Benguet, aiming to improve road safety and accessibility in the area.

The P120.57-million project, implemented under the Build Better More Program, included the installation of 696 single-arm solar street lights with 9-meter poles, mounted on reinforced concrete pedestals and accompanied by 89 linear meters of roller steel barrier.

New Roads Bring Economic Benefits in Masbate

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has initiated two (2) new road projects to improve mobility and provide better economic opportunities in remote communities of Masbate Province.

Citing a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region V Director Virgilio C. Eduarte identified one (1) of the completed projects as the Package 1 of Asid-Tigbao-Bara-Malbug Road, located in Barangay Tigbao, Milagros town.

Upgraded Roads Completed in Baliguian, Zamboanga Del Norte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed preventive maintenance works along two (2) sections of the Liloy-Siocon Road in the municipality of Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte.

Implemented by DPWH Zamboanga del Norte 4th District Engineering Office, the completed projects consist of a 4-kilometer road concreting along Barangay Tan-awan, and a 1-kilometer asphalt overlay along Barangay Kauswagan.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed Phase 2 of its farm-to-market road project in Magalang, Pampanga – further improving connection and trade between the agricultural barangays of Balitucan and Turu.

The latest development follows the successful completion of Phase 1 in August 2024 by the DPWH Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office, which involved the construction of a 1.092-kilometer, 6-meter wide concrete road, to facilitate 2-way access for local farmers and residents.

Bucana Bridge Project Enters Peak Construction Phase, Set to Finish Ahead of Schedule

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is accelerating the construction of the Bucana Bridge Project, a 1.34-kilometer, four (4)-lane, six (6)-span structure expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in Davao City.

DPWH Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain reported to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan that the project, also known as the Davao River Bridge Project, is now nearly 80% complete.
