DPWH Improves Flood Resilience along Major Rivers in Capiz

Coastal communities in the towns of Pilar and Panay, Capiz are now safe against the recurring threat of flooding with river control structures completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DPWH Region 6 Director Sanny Boy Oropel, the completed projects are a 751.5-lineal meter flood mitigation structure along Balisong River in Barangay San Ramon, Pilar, and a 223.3-lineal meter river control along Panay River in Barangay Cogon, Panay.

DPWH Receives Special Award at PAGBA’s 60th Anniversary Celebration

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was honored with a special award during the 60th founding anniversary celebration of the Philippine Association of Government Budget Administration, Inc. (PAGBA), held on Monday, April 28, at the Manila Hotel.

DPWH Undersecretary Marichu A. Palafox together with Chief Accountant Farha K. Karim accepted the award on behalf of Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan. The recognition was given in acknowledgment of DPWH’s strong partnership with PAGBA and for having sent the highest number of participants to PAGBA seminars over the past year.

DPWH Accelerates Upgrade of Dumabato Bridge in Maddela, Quirino

As part of the Build Better More Program under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is making notable progress on the improvement of the Dumabato Bridge along Dumabato-Balligui Road in Barangay Dumabato Norte, Maddela, Quirino.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region II Director Mathias L. Malenab, announced that phase 2 of the bridge replacement and strengthening project has reached 83.61 percent completion. The project is on track for its targeted completion in June 2025.

DPWH Completes Solar Lighting Project to Enhance Road Safety in La Trinidad, Benguet

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed the installation of solar-powered streetlights along the Pico–Lamtang Road in La Trinidad, Benguet, aiming to improve road safety and accessibility in the area.

The P120.57-million project, implemented under the Build Better More Program, included the installation of 696 single-arm solar street lights with 9-meter poles, mounted on reinforced concrete pedestals and accompanied by 89 linear meters of roller steel barrier.
