Flood Control Project Strengthens Disaster Resilience in Riverside Community of Gapan City, Nueva Ecija
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed a vital flood mitigation structure along Peñaranda River, enhancing disaster resilience in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.
According to a report submitted to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the newly constructed flood mitigation structure – including a 312.40-meter double-berm system, a 10-meter-wide dike, and reinforced concrete slope protection, has significantly reduced the risk of flooding in the area.
