DPWH Improves Road Connecting Central Iloilo Towns

Traveling to various areas in the central Iloilo Province is now safer and more convenient with the upgrading of the New Lucena-Sta. Barbara Road by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DPWH Region 6 Director Sanny Boy Oropel, the project involved asphalt paving of the 8.6-kilometer, two (2)-lane road with 613-meter lined canal and sidewalk, including 222-meter concrete shoulders.

The Department of Public Works and Highways Central Office hosted a prayer vigil and a motorcade with the image of Sto. Niño during office lunch break on Thursday, January 23, 2025, as part of the Department’s eucharistic celebration for the Feast of Señor Sto. Niño. The prayer vigil, attended by key officials and employees, will conclude at 9:00 am tomorrow, followed by a farewell prayer, traditional “Sunduan”, and a regular Friday Mass.

DPWH Builds River Structures for Fishing Community in Malabon

Several flood control projects were recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to protect a riverside neighborhood inhabited by a fishing community in Barangay Muzon, Malabon City.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta M. Malaluan, said that in calendar year 2024, a total of seven (7) phases of the Muzon River Wall Project was implemented, with combined allocation of P330.50 million.

Cantilan-Madrid Bypass Road to Ease Traffic Congestion in Surigao del Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed another segment of the Cantilan-Madrid Bypass Road Project to provide a vital alternate route and ease traffic congestion along the Surigao-Davao Coastal Road (SDCR) in the municipality of Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region XIII OIC-Director Alex B. Ramos, said that a significant portion of the ongoing 8.65-kilometer bypass road project was already substantially completed with the recent accomplishment of additional 790-meter concrete paved section.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed another segment of the Cantilan-Madrid Bypass Road Project to provide a vital alternate route and ease traffic congestion along the Surigao-Davao Coastal Road (SDCR) in the municipality of Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region XIII OIC-Director Alex B. Ramos, said that a significant portion of the ongoing 8.65-kilometer bypass road project was already substantially completed with the recent accomplishment of additional 790-meter concrete paved section.

P48.9-M Flood Control Project to Strengthen Riverbanks in Hermosa, Bataan

Residents may now feel more secure against the risks of flooding and erosion due to the improved riverbank protection completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Barangay Cataning, Hermosa, Province of Bataan.

The completed flood control project amounting to P48.9-million, funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), involved constructing 400 linear meters of concrete slope protection along the Hermosa River.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte, said that six (6) parts of the coastal road were recently completed in Barangays Calalahan, Dolo, and Telegrafo in San Jose, as well as in Barangay Nato and Sto Niño in Sagñay town.
