Newly rehabilitated road brings convenient, faster travel in Negros Occidental

A more convenient and faster travel is made possible with the recent completion of 2.18-kilometer road reblocking and repair along Binalbagan-Isabela Road in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

The P35.43-million concrete reblocking of the national arterial road implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Negros Occidental 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) is expected to provide improved travel to about 2,500 average daily vehicles passing the road section.

DPWH improves road to Maribojoc Port, Bohol

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is working on the improvement of the access road leading to Maribojoc Port in Bohol, with 44.6 percent accomplishment.

The P11.9 million project funded under 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA) involves widening into four (4) lanes of 37-meter road with portland cement concrete pavement (PCCP).

“Since Maribojoc Port is being eyed to become a major port, the improved road will facilitate better access to spur economic activities in the coastal town”, said Bohol 1st District Engineer Francis Antonio L. Flores.

DPWH completes 2 new flood control projects in Central Iloilo towns

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two (2) flood control structures along Jalaur River to protect the residents of Barangays Tabucan, Barotac Nuevo and Poblacion, Passi City in Iloilo.

The flood control project in Barotac Nuevo, built in the amount of P46.9 million, is composed of a 254.8-lineal meter structure including drainage and 181-lineal meter groundsill (gabions).

On the other hand, Passi City’s P23.2-million project involved the construction of a 186.4-lineal meter revetment wall.

New road to benefit indigenous communities in Caraga, underway

Progress of works for the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) 2-lane Sampaguita – Makilos Road project connecting Agusan del Sur in Region 13 and Bukidnon Province in Region 10 has reached 33 percent accomplishment.

The road project which is expected to cater to the tribes of Manobo and Mamanwa in the area of Caraga has already received an allocation of P2.81 billion out of the P7.14 billion needed to construct the entire 73.06-kilometer road.
