Road Crash Area in Agoo, La Union Free From Any Hazards

No road works nor any possible source of danger could lead to the Christmas Day road crash at Manila North Road in Agoo, La Union.

Assistant District Engineer Raul Gali of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) La Union 2nd District Engineering Office reported that the place of road accident at Barangay San Jose Sur, Agoo, La Union at about 3:30 AM of December 25, 2017 involving jeepney and bus is free from any obstruction or any hazards of on-going projects that may distract attention of drivers or hamper the flow of vehicular traffic.

DPWH ensures safe roads on Christmas holidays

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reactivates its “Lakbay Alalay” program in anticipation of the volume of traffic along national roads this yuletide season.

Secretary Mark A. Villar has ordered DPWH Regional Directors and District Engineers to set up Motorists' Assistance Stations services from 12PM of December 23, 2017 to 12PM January 2, 2018 to assist the traveling public along the highways in coordination with other concerned agencies such as the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Local Government Units (LGUs).

Rock slide along Daang Maharlika, Samar

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Samar 1st District Engineering Office reported 8 AM Friday, December 22, 2017 that Calbayog-Allen Road at KO701+900 – KO701+985 Barangay Malayog, Calabayog City is not passable to vehicular traffic due to approximately 250 cubic meters of rockslide that occurred 7PM Thursday, December 21, 2017.

DPWH road clearing operation is on-going with barricades and warning signs and traffic advisory installed.

Landslide clearing

DPWH Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut together with Aklan District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella oversee the clearing of landslides and restoration of road slip along intermittent sections of the Aklan West Road in Barangay Tolingon and Barangay Habana, Nabas, Aklan caused by Typhoon “Urduja”. Although the affected road sections are now passable, vehicles from Iloilo City to Caticlan and vice versa may also use the Caticlan-Buruanga-Libertad-Pandan Road to junction Nabas as alternate route.
