DPWH Builds New OP-PMS Office in Western Visayas

The construction of a new Sub-Central Office (SCO) building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to house the Office of the President-Presidential Management Staff (OP-PMS) Integrated Operations and Service Continuity System (IOSCS) in Western Visayas is now nearing completion.

DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno said that the Department is fast-tracking the construction of the building which will serve as a venue for discussion of important programs, projects, and policies of the Office of the President.

Slope Protection Works Completed Along Landslide Prone Area in La Union

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a 154-meter slope protection structure along San Fernando-Bagulin Road in Barangay Bacsil, San Fernando City, La Union.

DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan commended DPWH La Union District Engineering Office for the swift construction of the project which was completed within four months.

According to Director Tan, the project utilizes eco-friendly high-tensile wire mesh that keeps rock masses in place and maintains the stability of the slopes without harming the environment.

Improvement Works Along Nueva Ecija’s National Roads Completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently improved a total of six (6) kilometers of road along various sections of two (2) major thoroughfares in the Province of Nueva Ecija.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino identified the Sta. Rosa-Tarlac Road and Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road as the national roads which recently received the much-needed preventive maintenance and asphalting.

In support to Leyte’s booming tourism, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completes a viewdeck and boardwalk in Tacloban City that showcases the city’s monumental landmark, San Juanico Bridge.

As reported by DPWH Region 8 Director Allan S. Borromeo, the P19.2-Million project involves the construction of a 450-meter suspended deck slab, 80-meter walkway, and landscaping works to complement the new tourist attraction.

The access road leading to Kigay Sandbar Beach Falls is one of the convergence projects under the Tourism Roads Infrastructure Program (TRIP) of DPWH and the Department of Tourism (DOT).
