DPWH, DND Inaugurate New Military Facilities at Camp Aguinaldo

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed new building facilities at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City that are aimed to reinforce operations and boost the morale of troops.

DPWH Secretary Mark Villar with National Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana led on Thursday, June 17, 2021 the inauguration and handover ceremony of a four (4) storey male and female enlisted personnel barracks building and two (2) storey hospital facility at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo Station Hospital.

DPWH Provides Flood Control Structure in Mallig, Isabela

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a flood control project in the municipality of Mallig, Province of Isabela just in time to prevent water intrusion of river to residential areas this rainy season.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the revetment structure in Barangay Casili will safeguard the flood-prone residential and agricultural areas and helps in preventing the water overflow and soil erosion along Mallig River.

DPWH Widens 4 Bridges in Leyte

An increase in connectivity and mobility will surely bolster the economy and tourism of the scenic municipalities of Palompon, Isabel, Merida, and other nearby towns in Leyte with the widening of bridges by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar identified the bridges undergoing widening under the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA) with a total amount of P53.6-million as Libas Bridge, Guinobatan Bridge, Calunangan Bridge, and Apale Bridge.

The Sta. Monica-Lawton Bridge now dubbed Kalayaan Bridge is finally opened having been inaugurated just in time as the country celebrates 123rd Independence Day on June 12, 2021.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the inauguration of Kalayaan Bridge connecting Lawton Avenue in Makati City and Sta. Monica Street in Pasig City is a fitting Independence Day gift of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the general public who will be relieved from traffic congestion going in and out of Makati/BGC Taguig and Pasig/Mandaluyong City.

DPWH Resumes Road Works in EDSA, C-5

Road maintenance works of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will resume starting 11 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 until 5 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 covering Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Circumferential Road 5 (C-5 Road) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that with given clearance from Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), DPWH – NCR will conduct repair activities at the northbound directions of EDSA, near Kaingin Road in Quezon City; and from K0010+(-942)-K0010+666 in Caloocan City.
