Secretary Rogelio L. Singson said that the on-going construction of Laoag City By-Pass Road when completed will reduce travel time of motorists especially tourists exploring scenic places of the northern Ilocos Region.

DPWH Laoag By-Pass Road Project

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson together with DPWH Region 1 Director Melanio C. Briosos and Project Engineer Angelito A. Dian inspects the on-going Laoag City By-Pass Road Project in Ilocos Norte. The four (4) lane highway project is designed to lessen travel time especially of tourists exploring scenic places of the northern Ilocos Region to the northernmost part of the Ilocos Region. Ocular Inspection With DENR Personnel

Quezon IV District Engineering Office headed by District Engineer Celestial S. Flancia, together with Assistant District Engineer Gener J. Abergas and District Maintenance Engineer Crisanto M. Tadiosa, Jr. with personnel from the Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) conducted an ocular inspection at the Old Zigzag Road, Atimonan, Quezon in connection with the removal of trees that will be affected by various projects of the DPWH in the area.

Meeting With Contractors

Quezon IV District Engineer Celestial S. Flancia invited the contractors with on-going projects within the District for a meeting on February 15, 2016 at the District Office in Lucena City regarding the implementation of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Certification for all DPWH Projects. DE Flancia informed the contractors that effective immediately, the application for the DOLE Certification should be filed at the District Office to be forwarded at the DOLE Regional Office IV-A CALABARZON in Calamba City, Laguna.

DPWH-NCR February 26-29 Road Repair Schedule

The Department of Public Works and Highways-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) will undertake reblocking and road repair effective 10 PM of February 26, Friday to 5 AM of February 29, Monday on the following roads in Quezon City:

  1. Along EDSA from P. Tuazon Road to North Road (1st lane from sidewalk, South bound); and
  2. Along C.P. Garcia Street from Katipunan Avenue to Ma. Regidor Street (2nd lane from sidewalk, South bound).

Bridge Widening Along Daan Maharlika

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has prioritized the improvement of the Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway popularly known as Daang Maharlika, as the Philippines major arterial road connecting Luzon with the Visayas and Mindanao Islands in the south.
