EMD Boosts Proper Equipment Operation and Maintenance

The Department of Public Works and Highways Region 10 conducted a seminar on operation and preventive maintenance of heavy equipment and service vehicle last August 24-26, 2016 at the Regional Office Conference Room. This was attended by DPWH operators, drivers, mechanics, maintenance and field engineers who are involved in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects. The three-day training was initiated and hosted by DPWH-X Equipment Management Division Chief Hugh Van Erik Q. Tolentino.

Accountants Prepare for the Implementation of eNGAS/eBudget

Accountants and Budget Officers of the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 10 gathered to prepare for the implementation of the eNGAS / eBudget last August 24, 2016, at the 3rd floor Regional Office Conference Room. Approximately more or less 50 Accounting Officers from different DEOs attended the said training.

The pre- implementation training aimed to improve the data quality in the interim system, to prepare the data for migration and develop the methods for conversion of the data to the new version of the financial management systems.

Northwest Leyte 2016 Infra Projects Contstruction in Full Swing

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte 4th District Engineering Office attained an accomplishment rate of 73.84 percent in the implementation of regular infrastructure projects for 2016.

District Engineer Lino Francisco Gonzales, who said that the figure is 5.93 percent above their target accomplishment of 67 percent for January to July this year.

Out of the 63 regular projects in northwest Leyte, 51 have been completed and 11 are on-going while only one has yet to start, which is the widening of Ormoc’s Anilao Bridge worth Php60 million.

Newly Built 4-Storey School Building in Capiz Now Ready for Use

An estimated number of 1,000 senior high school students of Ponteverda National High School in Ponteverda, Capiz can now occupy the 4-storey senior high school building completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Capiz First District Engineering Office (DEO).
The ₱30.379 Million worth school building is composed of 20 classrooms and is funded by the Department of Education (DepEd) under its Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF).

The project addresses the shortage of classrooms brought by the full implementation of the K-12 program.

Clearing Operation

Maintenance crew of the DPWH Guimaras District Engineering Office manually clears the eroded soil along the national road in Sitio Buri, Poblacion, Jordan, Guimaras. The erosion was caused by continuous heavy rainfall occurred these past few weeks. Thus, in order to ensure that national roads are accessible to motorists, District Engineer Rolando P. Ubaldo deployed his personnel to maintain roads and clear such from obstructions.

DPWH Addresses Problem on ‘Dangerous’ Saddle Road in Southern Leyte

Department of Public Works and Highways-Southern Leyte District Engineering Office (DPWH-SLDEO) hastens the improvement of saddle road in Southern Leyte – the most accident-prone road section in the region.

The 48 million road alignment concreting project includes the construction of a four-lane road from the 1.6-kilometer critical sections through the construction of slope protection works, installation of line canal and metal guardrails, and road concreting activities to allow safe transportation and prevent accidents in the area.
