Adhering to the directive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to fast track the implementation of infrastructure projects, District Engineer Nicolas O. Alameda of DPWH Agusan del Norte District Engineering Office (ADNDEO) instructs the 24-hour monitoring of construction activities within the District particularly at the national highway.
DE Alameda tasks the Construction Section to closely monitor projects as this is the most effective way in making sure that contractors work 24 hours, 7 days in a week, wasting no time to fast track the implementation. This will also improve the absorptive capacity of the DEO - which has been affected negatively by slow-moving processes in the pre-procurement and pre-construction stages of Convergence Projects with Department of Education and Department of Health.
ADNDEO Quality Assurance Section was also instructed to be keen in the inspection and testing of construction materials as not to sacrifice the quality of the project, while Project Engineers are told to put all the necessary road safety signs to avoid any untoward accidents to both pedestrians and vehicles, as this too causes disruption to civil works.
Among the 36 projects under the DPWH Regular Infrastructure Program of ADNDEO, the concreting and widening of Nasipit Port Road, with a length of 2.25 lane kilometres, is regarded as with highest impact due to the expected decongestion of traffic in the port area,.
Assiduous monitoring of the P40.4 Million project under contract with Reyrose Construction & Supply is given focus and importance to ensure that the project will meet its targeted accomplishment date on January 5, 2017 or target early completion.
