Seawall Protects Coastal Communities in Banton, Romblon

A 168-lineal meter seawall project completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now benefits the residents of the coastal Barangay Poblacion, Banton, Romblon.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Regional Office IV-B Director Gerald A. Pacanan said that the completed Phase 2 of a coastal infrastructure project which include an elevated road, sidewalk, precast curb, and gutter, with street lights currently protects the coastal barangay from storm surge, while providing a scenic alternate route for the motorists in the area.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a preventive maintenance work along a portion of Governor Joaquin J. Linao Road to provide better travel experience to locals and tourists in Bagac, Bataan.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is working to improve an existing gravel road to support the Inabal woven cloth industry of the Bagobo Tagabawa community in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

The road improvement project is a planned seven (7)-year endeavor of the DPWH Davao del Sur District Engineering Office (DEO) from 2020 to 2026 to connect through a concrete road the Tubod – Libertad – Bitaug Road in the town of Bansalan to the Davao – Cotabato Road section in Makilala, Cotabato Province.

Korea Affirms Commitment to Infrastructure Projects in the Philippines

Government officials from the Philippines and Korea convened in a coordination meeting aimed at advancing the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network (LLRN) Project – Phase I and other Infrastructure Flagship Projects (IFPs) under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administration’s “Build Better More” program.

The meeting held on June 20, 2024 at Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros, Manila saw the participation of Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Director Jiyoung Choi from Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the construction of a 2-lane road traversing the mountainous barangay of Cawayan in the town of Asipulo, Ifugao Province.

DPWH Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Director Khadaffy Tanggol, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan said that the completed road stretching 3.5 kilometers now links Barangay Cawayan to the town proper, allowing a safer and more convenient access for locals.
