Officials and employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office in Port Area, Manila participated in a fire drill held on Friday, March 24, 2017. The drill conducted annually during “Fire Prevention Month” of March is part of the Department’s fire readiness and safety activities.
Consistent with the mandate of the President Rodrigo Duterte to fastrack project, Department of Public Work Secretary Mark Villar announced the opening of two additional lanes along the Barkadahan bridge this July.
“When completed the widening of Barkadahan bridge along C-6 will ease traffic congestion at EDSA and C-5. It will also provide safe and convenient route to the travelling public in the eastern corridor,” he added.
Last February, DPWH opened a section of the Laguna Lake Highway which traversesthrough Napindan to M. L. Quezon section in Taguig City.

“Once completed, RunWay Manila will allow the average person to walk the distance between the airport and Newport City in approximately three minutes,” Villar said.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Samar First District Engineering Office (SFDEO) completed the P 50-M Access Road Project leading to Bangon Falls in Brgy. Tinaplacan, Tinambacan District, Calbayog City, Samar.
Funded under the DPWH FY 2016 Infrastructure Fund thru the DPWH – DOT Convergence Program, the project involves concreting of 1,200 linear meters road with 768.20 linear meters Reinforced Concrete Lined Canal that is intended to prevent clogging and water ponding in the area which may eventually cause early deterioration of the structure.
Pictured is an access road leading to Naval Port in Naval, Biliran. It is proposed for rehabilitation with an appropriation of P54.939 Miliion. The road is most of the time congested on the early morning and late afternoon. The proposed project on above road is Rehabilitation of Access Road leading to Naval Port. The projects covers rehabilitation of 2.78 Lane Km. roadway and construction of drainage on some section. At present, preliminary and detailed engineering activities is still on-going.
The Department of Public Works and Highways – Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) has been allocated almost P1B for the FY 2017 Infrastructure Program with a total final listing of 57 projects based on the General Appropriation Act (GAA).
The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 02 headed by Director Melanio C Briosos gave his marching order to step up construction activities during the Regional Staff conference on February 28, 2017 held at the DPWH R02 conference hall.
