Widening of 2.4-km port road in Sagay City, Negros Occidental nears completion

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the P74-million road widening project in Vito Port Road, Brgy. Andres Bonifacio, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

According to DPWH Negros Occidental 1st District Engineer Jaime SJ Javellana, the 2.42-kilometer road widening project, which started in April this year, is expected to be completed in February 2019.

A tall and sturdy river wall was constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to minimize flood-related casualties and damage to properties and crops from the overflow of Caraycaray River in Barangay Caraycaray, Naval, Biliran.

DPWH Biliran District Engineer David Adongay said the newly-completed project costing P56 million is an 850-meter revetment structure with reinforced concrete facing and foundation.

6-lane Otis Bridge opened in time for Christmas rush

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has re-opened on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, the newly-reconstructed, strengthened and widened Otis Bridge along P.M. Guazon Street, Paco, Manila.

“We are glad that we were able to finish the replacement of Otis Bridge within five (5) months and ahead of schedule. This will be another Christmas gift to our motorists, specifically in this area of Manila,” said DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar during the bridge’s reopening ceremony.
