DPWH Sultan Kudarat 1st DEO presents 2019 progress to stakeholders

To promote transparency and strong partnership with stakeholders, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sultan Kudarat 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) reported its 2019 accomplishments last December 2, 2019.

DE Oppura helds meeting with contractors undertaking projects of the district

Newly assumed district engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Leyte Second District Engineering Office, Leo Edward Oppura calls a meeting with contractors.

“The DPWH and contractors are key partners in the implementation of projects. With your prompt cooperation and coordination we will be able to attain our work accomplishment targets,” said Oppura.

“DPWH project engineers are always on the ground to assist and guide you, do not hesitate to approach them if you have any concern regarding the project,” he added.

In an effort to ensure the safety and convenience of the traveling public, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 5 Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte tapped the services of the Regional and District Engineering Offices Public Information Officers (PIOs) region-wide to stop the increasing number of violators on the usage of the national road and its appurtenances.

162 Civil Engineers hired for Bicol’s Build, Build, Build Projects

Bicol Region’s Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte has sworn-in 38 Civil Engineers (CEs) who were given coterminous positions with the Build, Build, Build Program of the government.

“This is the last batch of the 162 CEs hired to augment the existing staff of the Regional and District Engineering Offices (DEOs) in undertaking projects and activities in line with the infrastructure advocacies of our administration,” said RD Eduarte in a phone-patch media interview after the virtual oath-taking ceremony on September 9, 2020.

Bidding of projects in the new normal

In recognition of the need to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials and employees in Bicol Region as well as the public that it serve, Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte ordered the swift adoption of the electronic submission and receipt of bids for the procurement of civil works contract.

Rehabilitation along Ayaga (Abulug)-Ballesteros-Aparri Road almost complete

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is working to complete the upgrading of the damaged road along the Ayaga (Abulug)-Ballesteros-Aparri Road (JABAR Section) Junction in Ballesteros, Cagayan with only some remaining refinements needed to be done.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that two (2) kilometers of road network has been improved since the project started civil works in June 2019.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the concreting of the access road leading to Diffun, Quirino’s Ganano Falls, providing locals and visitors easier travel to the tourist destination.

According to Secretary Mark A. Villar, the recently completed 540-meter section of the access road supplements the 1.02-kilometer portion that was paved last year by DPWH Quirino District Engineering Office (DEO).
