Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio L. Singson warned DPWH officials and contractors against those making calls and sending messages to inform that they are well-connected with the incoming new administration.
Name-droppers and influence peddlers are expected to operate especially during the transition period, said Secretary Singson
The DPWH Chief has received directly himself and also reports from the field that impostors are calling Regional Directors requesting the names of DPWH big contractors to broker meeting with Las Piñas Representative Mark Villar, named incoming DPWH Secretary by presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Be vigilant about calls and messages as somebody has started to use the name of Congressman Mark including Mr. Peter Lavina, presumptive President’s campaign spokesperson”, said Singson.
Secretary Singson said that all contractors doing business with the Department are indicated in the list of infrastructure projects per Region posted in the DPWH website and there is no reason to provide similar information to any unknown persons.
As head of the DPWH Presidential Transition Committee together with the five (5) DPWH Undersecretaries, detailed briefing about the DPWH operation as part of the transition process for the turn-over of leadership to Congressman Villar has been given by Secretary Singson.
