
The Provinces of Western and Eastern Samar is now connected by a 222-kilometer all weather concrete paved road with 62 permanent bridges traversing a total of 15 municipalities made possible through a grant given by the people of the United States of America to the Philippines through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) under the terms of a compact signed between the two (2) countries in 2010.
