Continuous heavy rains brought by low pressure area has rendered the Balolo Detour Bridge in Barangay Guadalupe, Coron, Palawan not passable.
According to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region IV-B Director Subair S. Diron, Balolo Detour Bridge located at KM0013+913 was washed-out by floodwater.
The DPWH Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) team, with equipment resources was deployed to undertake repair works. They are likewise instructed to assist stranded commuters.
Meanwhile, the Bataclan Detour Bridge at KM0026+215, Barangay Bintuan, Coron, which was earlier closed to vehicular traffic, is now cleared and passable.
Director Diron said all DPWH District Engineering Office (DEO) in Region IV-B are monitoring rainfall warning and its possible effects on national roads and bridges.
