Department of Public Works and Highways-13 Engineers had a glimpse of the new Project and Contract Management Application (PCMA) during the road show training on June 9, 2016 at Balanghai, Hotel, Butuan City.
The Regional Office along with Surigao del Sur 1st District Office and Agusan del Norte District Office were just among the ten DPWH offices to become pilot users of this new system.
The new system aims to address the issues from its predecessor, the Project Management System, the par-ticularly subjective reporting, poor data quality, inconsistencies, and transparency issues.
With PCMA engineers will be using an e-Log in addition to manual log books in field or project sites, which application is available using electronic android devices.
In the said, system engineers are required to take photos with recorded geo-tagged locations including the exact date taken, in which will be uploaded to the system for proper reporting.
