The DPWH Regional Office IX (RO-IX) and Zamboanga City District Engineering Office reached another milestone when the offices receive the ISO 9001:2008 Certification of their Quality Management System (QMS) on June 23, 2016.
The RO-IX and Zamboanga City DEO are among the fifty-four (54) DPWH offices that are now ISO 9001:2008 Certified - seventeen (17) Regional Offices, seventeen (17) pilot District Engineering Offices, five (5) Unified Project Management Offices and the nineteen (19) offices in the Central Office.
The successful certification of the Department can be attributed to the initiative of former Secretary Rogelio L. Singson who strongly pursued the quest of ISO 9001:2008 Certification of the Department’s Quality Management System and the combined efforts of the Core Team members and employees who commit to the QMS.
DPWH Region IX Quality Management Representative (QMR) Director Jorge U. Sebastian Jr. created the Regional Core Team by virtue of Office Order No. 4, series of 2016, with OIC-ARD Cayamombao D. Dia as the designated Deputy QMR, and Engr. Jaime Ariston G. Yanos as the Core Team leader.
Despite the success, DPWH Region IX, will not rest on its laurels but will continually keep sight of its goal to provide quality infrastructure and services to derive operational excellence by maintaining the QMS.
