Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region V Regional Director Reynaldo G. Tagudando is one of the recipients of the University of the Philippines’ (UP) first Gawad Oblation in a ceremony held on February 7, 2017 at the UP Professional Schools in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila.
Gawad Oblation is a special award given by the UP President to UP alumni and friends for “extraordinary service with or in the name of UP”.
Fourteen (14) individuals from government and industry all over the country made up the first UP Gawad Oblation awardees.
Among the awardees are Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero; former DPWH Secretary Rogelio “Babes” L. Singson; former Senator Manuel “Manny” B. Villar also the Chairman of Vista Land & Lifescapes, Inc.; Mr. Hans Sy, Businessman, Ms. Robina Gokongwei-Pe, Corporate Executive; Senator Loren Legarda; former Senator Pia Cayetano, now Taguig Representative; former Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Florencio Abad; Commission on Higher Education Chair Patricia Licuanan; and RD Tagudando.
As posted in UP Diliman official facebook account, the awardees, whose initiatives have helped the university perform its leadership role in higher education and national development, each received a medal articulating the symbol of the Oblation.
The awarding ceremony was headed by UP President Alfredo Pascual and Vice President for Public Affairs Edna Estifania Co.
