
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) conferred the ISO 9001:2008 certification to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 02 for its Quality Management System (QMS).
DPWH Regional Office 02 and Isabela Second District Engineering Office were among the 35 new offices included in the expansion of DPWH’s QMS. ISO 9001:2008 Certification is an accreditation conducted by external certification bodies to ensure that an organization performs their inter-related processes with international standards.
According to Regional Director Nerie D. Bueno, having an ISO Certification means that an agency or company strictly ensures that their management systems operate effectively as a guide for achieving their organizational performance goals, such as commitment to quality and excellent public service.
The awarding ceremony was headed by Secretary Rogelio L. Singson, also attended Assistant Secretary Gilberto S. Reyes, Undersecretary Ardeliza R. Medenilla, Undersecretary Romeo S. Momo, AJA Registrars Vice President Paul Bagatsing, Undersecretary Raul C. Asis, Assistant Secretary B. Elizabeth E. Yap, Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, Assistant Secretary Eugenio R. Pipo, Jr. and Assistant Secretary Dimas S. Soguilon, ISDEO District Engineer Reynato Ubiña, Region 02 Administrative Officer Nestor Q. Marallag.
