The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) rehabilitated a local road in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga to facilitate better access to economic hubs in the province.
In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino identified the newly-upgraded road in San Fernando City as the 1.05-kilometer, two (2)-lane Dolores-Del Carmen-Bulaon Road in Barangay Del Carmen.
The completed road works, which included off-carriageway improvements and installation of drainage canals, along the identified sections of Dolores-Del Carmen-Bulaon Road allowed faster and more convenient travel for road users.
According to Director Tolentino, the local road has long served as an alternate route for motorists traveling to the highly urbanized Angeles City and the continuously developing Clark Freeport Area.
With its improved condition, Dolores-Del Carmen-Bulaon Road can effectively cater to motorists trying to avoid the traffic congested intersection area of Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA) and Manila North Road (MNR) in Barangay Dolores, San Fernando City.
Funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA), the P39.2-million rehabilitation of Dolores-Del Carmen-Bulaon Road was implemented by the DPWH Pampanga First District Engineering Office (DEO) under the Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) Program of the DPWH.
