The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed nine (9) road projects that ensure better mobility in the Municipalities of Jaen and Rizal in Nueva Ecija.
In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the paving of roads are in support to program for better access to various agricultural communities in Nueva Ecija.
In Jaen, the DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineering Office (DEO) has connected the Barangays of Dampulan, Pakul, San Pablo, San Vicente, and Santo Tomas to the town’s major road networks.
With 1.95 kilometers of newly-paved roads, residents now experience better connectivity in their communities that used to have unpaved rough roads which are susceptible to becoming muddy during heavy rains.
Meanwhile, four (4) barangays in the town of Rizal that depend on agriculture for a living are the recipients of P19.3-million worth of road projects completed by the DPWH Nueva Ecija First DEO.
Farmers of Barangays Aglipay, Casilagan, General Luna, and Maligaya are now benefitting from the 2.02 kilometers of concreted roads in their areas.
Aside from giving a big boost in agricultural economy, the paved roads also facilitate better access to basic services such as health, education, and trade in goods and services in and around the towns.
