The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the completion of a 3.36-kilometer road network of Basa Air Base in Floridablanca, Pampanga.
Implemented by DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO), the P39.19-million concreting of two-lane road will facilitate safer, more convenient, and faster travel inside the airbase operated by the Philippine Air Force.
In his report submitted to DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, District Engineer Gregorio D. Audea, Jr. said that the improvement of the road network inside Basa Air Base is expected to uplift the living standards of residents of the base while boosting tourism-related activities within and around the area.
The completion of the road network improvement covering eight (8) different sections will facilitate ease in the transport of military equipment and supplies in and out of the air base.
The project is a partnership between the Department of National Defense (DND) and DPWH under “Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad” (TIKAS) convergence projects which aims to support further strengthening our national security by providing quality infrastructure.
