The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently constructed two (2) farm-to-market roads (FMR) benefiting both residents and farmers in the Municipality of Camiling and Tarlac City.
According to DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, the DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) oversaw the improvement into concrete of the local roads with a combined length of 1.32 kilometers.
Director Tolentino, citing reports from District Engineer Neil C. Farala, identified the newly-paved rural roads as the 825-meter section of Sitio Guisang FMR in Barangay Bilad in Camiling town and the 498-meter section of Barangay Sinait FMR in Tarlac City.
Local farmers of Brgy. Bilad in Camiling praised the implementation of the FMR project as they expect an increase in local trade after the FMR connected their community to the town’s main road.
Residents of Brgy. Sinait in Tarlac City, meanwhile, see the road improvement in the area as great assistance in conducting their daily household tasks.
With a total cost P23.28 million, both road concreting projects are funded through the 2021 General Appropriations Act (GAA) under the DPWH and Department of Agriculture (DA) convergence program.
