The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the construction of a multipurpose building that will serve as the Cultural and Sports Center of the province of Capiz.
The new building project is intended to accommodate more sporting events and cultural activities for locals and tourists visiting the province, and serve as another venue to nurture Capizeño’s talents.
DPWH Capiz 1st District Engineering Office oversees the on-going construction of the building inside the Villareal Stadium in Roxas City.
Through the years, Villareal Stadium is known for holding various sports and cultural activities as well as local and national events. It also served as the venue of the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) as well as other regional meets.
With an allocation of P59.4 million, scope of works on the project began in June 2021 and is expected to be completed by third quarter of 2022.
