The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently started the construction of a two-storey building inside the Central Luzon headquarters of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Olivas in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado said that the project implemented by the DPWH Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) is intended to be the new and improved Regional Internal Affairs Service (RIAS) Building for the hundreds of law enforcement agents and police officers of Camp Olivas.
The planned 771.58-square-meter building is both structurally and aesthetically designed in accordance with modern resilient building standards that will ensure a more conducive working environment for all PNP personnel who will utilize it.
According to DPWH Pampanga 1st District Engineer Almer C. Miranda, the project has an estimated cost of P35 Million with P20 Million already released under the 2022 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
DPWH Pampanga 1st DEO has already requested for the remaining P15 Million funding to facilitate completion of the building in 2023.
The DPWH has recently turned-over to the management of Camp Olivas two (2) newly-constructed buildings for its Regional Headquarters Support Unit (RHSU) and Rektang Konek – Aksyon Agad (RKAA) operations.
