Public Works and Highways Mark A. Villar inaugurated Saturday, September 25, 2021 the new hangar of the Army Aviation Regiment and Administration Building of the Light Reaction Regiment of the Philippine Army at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija.

Secretary Villar officially turned over the newly completed facilities expected to boost military defense operations to Army Aviation Regiment Commander Colonel Andre B. Santos and Light Reaction Regiment Commander Brigadier General Monico E. Abang.

Also present at the event are DPWH Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut, Assistant Secretary Wilfredo S. Mallari, Region 3 Assistant Director Denise Maria M. Ayag, Northern Luzon Command Chief Lt. Gen. Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos Jr., Air Force Major General Rene S. Diaz, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) Commander Brigadier General Lincoln Francisco T. Tagle; and 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division Acting Commander Brigadier General Luis Rex Bergante.

DPWH thru Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office fast tracked the completion of these vital military facilities in Fort Magsaysay as a way of supporting the military personnel in their commitment to protect the country.

Intended to accommodate government aircrafts for maintenance and rapid deployment, the one (1) storey defense standard military hangar is constructed with a full dimension parking space, drop-off area and concrete pavement for runway.

The P63-million closed-building hangar also serves as storage to protect aircrafts from direct sun exposure and other damaging elements.

Meanwhile, the completion of the P39.2-million two (2) storey Light Reaction Regiment Administration Building will serve as the operational and management center housing the Regiment’s administrative and support operations.

“The Department of National Defense (DND) can continue to rely on DPWH as its partner in its Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS) Program to promote national peace and security and eventually improve quality of life for the Filipinos,” said Secretary Villar.
