
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recorded two (2) new road closure in Ilocos Norte and Cavite adding to the four (4) already impassable roads in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Region 3 and 4-B due to Southwest Monsoon.
DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar identified newly-affected roads as Manila North Road, K0578+800 in Brgy. Pancian, Sitio Bangquero, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte due to landslide and Mahogany Avenue, K0059+(-990) in Tagaytay City, Cavite due to fallen utility post. The DPWH Ilocos Norte 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) Quick Response Team has installed warning signs and is now conducting clearing operation in Pagudpud while DPWH Cavite 2ndDEO has coordinated with utility company for the removal of electric posts in Tagaytay City.
Still closed to all types of vehicles as of 12Noon, July 28, 2021 are Baguio-Bontoc Road K0362+600, Busa Bridge, Sabangan, Mt. Province; Abra - Kalinga Road, K0489+900 section in Gacab, Malibcong, Abra; Junction Layac Balanga Mariveles Port Road Zigzag Section K0160+000 in Bataan and Mindoro West Coastal Road, K0353+900, Pag-asa Section, in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.
The Apalit Macabebe Masantol Road, K0062+600 – K0063+400, in Calsada Bayu, Sta. Lucia Matua, Masantol and Sto Tomas - Minalin Road (Minalin- Macabebe Section), K0072+500-k0073+300 also remain flooded hence still inaccessible light vehicles.
