The Department of Public Works and Highways supports the government tourism program with the construction and improvement of roads to attractive destinations in Southern Tagalog Region.

In his report to Secretary Rogelio L. Singson, DPWH Region IV-A Director Samson L. Hebra said that the upgrading of Taal Lake Circumferential Road in Agoncillo, Batangas and several other projects under the Convergence Program of the DPWH with the Department of Tourism (DOT) were completed.

Also completed are the repair and improvement of existing permanent bridge along Talisay-Laurel-Agoncillo Road and widening of Manila-Batangas Road, both of which are major trunkline to tourism destinations and major contributor to the growing economy of Batangas Province.

Rising number of tourist arrivals in CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) has paved the way for more road improvements and developments.

Priority is also on the improvement of road network leading to Tagaytay City which will be among the venues for the upcoming Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting.

With infrastructure as main growth drivers, DPWH strives to deliver quality projects anchored on the management philosophy of doing the right projects at the right cost with right quality delivered right on time and with the right people.
