
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed two (2) infrastructure projects in Zamboanga City and in Salug, Zamboanga Del Norte.
According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the two-lane Sinubong Bridge along Zamboanga City - Labuan - Limpapa Road has now been widened into four (4) lanes to accommodate the increasing number of motorists traversing western side of the city.
The newly widened 30.84-meter bridge project amounting to P27.5-million is now being used by residents of Barangays Sinubong, Patalon, Labuan, and Limpapa.
Secretary Villar also said that the DPWH Regional Office 9 under the leadership of Director Cayamombao D. Dia reported the completion of the Bacong National High School Covered Court in Barangay Bacong, Salug, Zamboange del Norte.
“Despite the limitations brought by the pandemic, we were able to deliver this new multipurpose building which can now serve as a safer and more convenient venue for school activities and events once face-to-face classes resume,” added Secretary Villar.
The project which has an area of 19x30-meter was completed under the 2020 Local Infrastructure Program and can now serve almost 800 students and teachers as well as residents of Barangay Bacong during emergencies.
