
Making sure that the directive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during his visit last visit in Tacloban is carried out, Secretary Mark A. Villar inspects the on-going water supply augmentation by the Department of Works and Highways at 13 resettlement sites in Tacloban North, Tacloban City.
Accompanying the Secretary were OIC Director Edgar B. Tabacon, Assistant Director Virgilio C. Eduarte and other DPWH Officials who visited the resettlement sites in Grendale Residence Phase 1; Grendale Residence Phase 2; Grendale Residence Phase 3; Villa Sofia, Tagpuro; North Hill Arbours 1, Sto Nino; North Hill Arbours 2, Sto Nino; Villa Diana, Kawayan; Guadalupe Height 1, San Isidro, Suhi; Guadalupe Height 2, San Isidro, Suhi; Guadalupe Height 3, San Isidro, Suhi; New Hope Village, Sta. Elena; St Francis Village Phase 1, Suhi; and St Francis Village Phase 2, Suhi.
As of December 17, 2016, Regional Office VIII has delivered a total of 3, 290 cu.m. water supply to 19 resettlement sites and installed a total of 50 (5 cu.m.) and 50 (cu.m) stainless water tanks and 104 jetmatic pumps.
The beneficiaries from the resettlement sites expressed their gratitude to Secretary Villar for their efforts in delivering potable water supply to these families in resettlement sites.
DPWH targets a total of 2,841 families to benefit the said water supply in 78 days of delivery. The delivery of water supply to these sites run from November 15 – January 2017.
