The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently turned over a 60-bed capacity isolation facility in Barangay Matapoli, Municipality of Marantao, province of Lanao del Sur to help in slowing down the rate of infection in the province.
According to DPWH Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar, the isolation facility was completed in less than two weeks by the DPWH Lanao del Norte 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) in accordance to the design standard prepared by the DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local and National Health Facilities in order to prevent transmission of the virus while providing comfort to the recovering patients.
“This new isolation facility with its own hospital bed, electric fan, and convenience outlet will accommodate COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms. Rest rooms and shower rooms are also provided for female and male patients separately,” said Secretary Villar.
“We hope that this facility will be put to good use as we work together in flattening the curve of Covid-19 transmission across the country,” added Villar.
The province of Lanao Del Sur was placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from November 1 to 30 by the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte upon recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
