Saturday, September 12, 2020

Residents of Benito Soliven, Isabela now benefit from the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) recently completed flood control project along the section of Pinacanauan River.

DPWH Isabela 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) implemented the construction of the project which was completed in August 2020.

According to District Engineer Editha R. Babara of DPWH Isabela 3rd DEO, the flood control structure now directly safeguards residents of Barangays Maluno Norte, Maluno Sur, and nearby communities that rely on agriculture for their livelihood.

“We need to have more flood control projects to be able to protect lives and properties within our principal or major river basins knowing that the province of Isabela has been the center of numerous typhoons in the past,” District Engineer Babaran added.

The recently completed protective structure, which cost P33.97 million to build, was funded under the DPWH Regular Infrastructure Program.
