DPWH Turns Over 12 Multi-Purpose Buildings in Samar

Local residents and students from various towns of Samar Province are now benefitting from the twelve (12) multi-purpose buildings amounting of P46-million completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to Region 8 Director Nerie D. Bueno, beneficiaries of the MPBs are Capoocan Elementary School, Aurora Elementary School, Barangays Bagacay, Hamorawon, San Joaquin, San Rufino, and Rawis in Calbayog City; Barangays Poblacion C and Tigdaranao in Municipality of Tarangnan; Barangay Villahermosa Oriental in Municipality of Pagsanghan; Barangay Hinugacan in Municipality of Gandara; and Barangay Aurora in Municipality of San Jorge.

“DPWH is doing its part in developing the schools and communities as a whole by providing multi-purpose buildings that can serve as evacuation centers and venues for different venues,” said Director Bueno.

The newly-built multi-purpose buildings are intended for seminars, medical and dental missions, feeding programs, recreational programs, sports competitions and other activities.
