
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported the completion of installation works of patient monitoring system at the Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) in just one (1) day instead of three (3) days.
In a message to DPWH, Dr. Gloanne C. Adolor of the Lung Center said that the hospital is truly grateful to DPWH led by Secretary Mark A. Villar for instilling urgency on the team of workers that facilitated the installation of cardiac monitors and closed-circuit television (CCTV) video surveillance at COVID ward efficiently way ahead of the three (3) days expected work period.
Dr. Adolor further said in her message that the relentless help of DPWH and the volunteer contractor means a lot, the new patient monitoring system will help improve the center’s response mechanism and capability to handle COVID-19 cases.
The gestures of support from DPWH and its partner contractor helped lift the spirits of hospital crew in the fight against COVID-19, Dr. Adolor added.
In his report to Secretary Villar, Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain said that the task at Lung Center gets done quickly with 30 workers of Nationstar Development Corporation responding effectively to urgent situations at the hospital, realizing that some 24 COVID patients are waiting for their rooms to be fixed.
DPWH also commended the Nationstar workers and their company President Mr. Al Tengco who fostered a sense of personal responsibility to offer their free service at LCP in this time of crisis and do what needs to be done immediately.
Secretary Villar also extended appreciation to the entire workforce of the Lung Center who are putting their lives at risk everyday in this time of serious health crisis
“We appreciate Lung Center’s hard work and service to the people”, said Secretary Villar.
