Manpower and equipment resources of Department of Public Works and Highways Region 6 were mobilized to provide logistical assistance to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in providing family food packs to provinces in Western Visayas.
According to DPWH Region 6 Director Lea N. Delfinado, food packs prepared by the DSWD were delivered to the province of Capiz and to the towns of Patnongon and Barbaza in Antique Province.
"We continue to have regular coordination meetings with DSWD so we can assist them in the immediate delivery of available government goods to other provinces in the region”, Director Delfinado said.
Head of the 15 District Engineering Offices in Western Visayas were also instructed to coordinate with Local Government Units (LGUs) under their jurisdiction and provide necessary equipment resources that might be needed in hauling and delivery of the goods to the communities.
