
The Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office No. IV-A supported the one month celebration of the 116th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC), anchoring on the theme, “Sigaw ng Lingkod Bayani: Malasakit sa taumbayan, kapwa kawani, at kalikasan,” which aims to promote and showcase heroism in public service.
The celebration started with bloodletting activity in partnership with the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) on September 7, 2016. Friendship games (basketball and volleyball) were played thereafter, with the participation of some of the employees from CSC Region IV. A back-to-back outreach activities were also held, which includes visiting an orphanage house and home-for-the-aged in Quezon City. A one-day dental service was also given to DPWH employees, in cooperation with the Department of Health (DOH) with dentists coming from National Children’s Hospital, East Avenue Medical Center, Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital and Rural Health Center in Sta. Maria, Bulacan. For employees, especially retirees, who are interested on topics like savings and financial planning, a pre-retirement seminar was conducted with guest speaker Mr. William Roi S. Bagay from GSIS.
