Davao de Oro revetment structure now 90% completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently implementing the construction of P72.17 million revetment project in Davao de Oro, formerly known as Compostela Valley.

According to DPWH Region XI Director Allan S. Borromeo, the on-going construction of flood mitigation project along Manat River leading to Agusan River in Barangay Bankerohan, Montevista, Davao de Oro is now 90 percent completed.

The 357.240 lineal meter concrete revetment structure stands 4.50 meter high, and composed of 12 meter steel sheet piles with reinforced concrete pile cap, 0.20 meter thick of concrete slope with 2 berms, gabions and mattresses, and reinforced concrete pipe culvert.

“Progress of work are being monitored as we fast-track the construction of this flood control which is targeted to be completed by April this year,” Director Borromeo said.

With the completion of revetment structure along Manat River. perennial flooding problem in Barangay Bankerohan will be addressed.
