DPWH completes P48.8-M revetment structure along Lipadas River, Davao City

The newly-constructed revetment wall project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now provides protection for the residents of Barangay Crossing Bayabas, Toril District, Davao City against river overflow.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region XI Director Allan S. Borromeo said that a total of P48.8-million was allocated for the construction of a 457-lineal meter of concrete revetment on steel sheet along Lizada Section of Lipadas River.

The concrete revetment is also designed to provide protection to the national road during flooding.

“With the construction of the Lipadas River Control Structure, land mass deterioration and flooding will be lessen in Toril District, Davao City, ensuring the safety and comfort of the people living in the community,” added Borromeo.
