In connection with the decision of Paoay, Ilocos Norte Mayor Dolores Clemente not to allow heavy and long vehicles (8-wheeler and up) to pass through Paoay starting Monday, August 18, 2014, heavy and long vehicles bound for Laoag City and further north are advised to take right turn at Pinili MNR junction towards Banna - Marcos - Dingras then exit at San Nicolas MNR junction (big banga marker) or they can proceed direct to Batac City and turn right at Batac crossing towards Batac - Marcos - Dingras - San Nicolas MNR junction exit at the marker (big banga) and vice versa. For light vehicles, 6-wheeler and below, they can still pass Paoay through Manila North Road. Traffic signages / directional signs are installed to guide heavy and long vehicles.
