As of Monday, January 6, 2019, two (2) sections of Wright-Taft-Borongan Road in Barangay Binaloan, Taft, Eastern Samar are still being cleared due to rock fall brought by intermittent heavy rain in the area.
In her report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region VIII Director Nerie D. Bueno said that the K0872+000 Section of Wright-Taft-Borongan Road is temporary closed due to ongoing clearing operation.
“An estimated 10,000 cubic meters of rock debris blocked the K0872+000 Section rendering it impassable since January 3, 2020 while the 6,000 cubic meters debris fell on the K0872+420-K0872+450 Section that is now one (1) lane passable,” said Director Bueno.
DPWH has deployed a total of eight (8) heavy equipment and a flood lamp to clear K0872+000 Section while five (5) equipment were deployed at the K0872+420-K0872+450 Section of Wright-Taft-Borongan Road.
