
A P36.6 M river control that will protect lives and properties against major floods was completed last April 05, 2019 by the Department of Public Works and Highways - Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office.
Located in the Palapag River Basin, Palapag, Northern Samar, the project is undertaken by the CDU Construction started last year. Designed to protect river-bank areas, including local agricultural communities and other economically valuable areas adjacent to the project site. This structure will prevent the detrimental effects of massive flooding by diverting the flows of water, slowing natural changes in embankment and preventing inundation of vulnerable floodplains in Palapag.
Work component comprise the construction of 353.00 linear meters river control (structural concrete revetment on steel sheet piles) with stone masonry wall (Block Type) with paint.
It is included in the DPWH Regular Infra Program funded thru the 2018 General Appropriations Act.
