The 12.35-kilometer Cesar Angeles – Emilio Vergara Bypass Road connecting Sta. Rosa and Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija will soon be further widened to six (6) lanes.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, District Engineer Ricardo M. Puno of DPWH Nueva Ecija Second District Engineering Office (DEO) reported that the widening from two (2) lanes to six (6) lanes of Cesar Angeles – Emilio Vergara Bypass Road is now under Phase 2 and a total of 4.16 kilometers of the road will be completed.

“We are glad to announce that we are close to completing the second phase covering a total of 2.02-kilometers of the bypass road. This is in addition to the 2.14 kilometer-segment that was widened under Phase 1 in 2018,” said District Engineer Puno.

“The expansion of the Cesar Angeles – Emilio Vergara Bypass Road is among our priority projects in the province as it serves as an alternative road to Cabanatuan, eastern side of Nueva Ecija and Aurora Province. It has also opened a whole new area of residential and commercial development in the Province,” added District Engineer Puno.

Engineer Puno said the widening of the bypass road is also necessary in anticipation for the Cabanatuan Interchange Exit of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) in Barangay Caalibangbangan, Cabanatuan City.

DPWH has already submitted the request for allocation of fund to finance the widening of the remaining sections of the project which also includes the widening of existing two-lane bridges.

A total of P100 million was initially allocated for Phase 1 and 2 of Cesar Angeles – Emilio Vergara Bypass Road Widening Project. The multi-year project is planned for completion by 2021.
